Both candidates contacted the Rutgers President Richard L. McCormick in regards to Service members Opportunity College (SOC). This issue was brought up during the debate, the a question was posed to both candidates as to how they would help make SOC mandatory in every state university in New Jersey. These acts will not go unnoticed amongst the veteran population. Veterans for Education would like to personally thank both of these candidates for going out of their way to take the proactive step towards making SOC a reality. Along with tireless dedication from various VFW legislators such as Al Bucchi and with the dedicated passion of Assemblyman Jack Conners who is the Chairman of the NJ Committee of Military and Veterans Affairs in Trenton, SOC will become a required program for all State Universities in NJ.
